Spartanburg, S.C. – January 2026 – Contec Professional is proud to announce its participation as a Silver Sponsor of Biomedical Research Awareness Day (BRAD), an international outreach initiative dedicated to increasing public understanding of the vital role animals play in biomedical research and the medical advancements that benefit both humans and animals.

BRAD is a program through Americans for Medical Progress that works to build awareness, transparency, and trust in biomedical research. The initiative highlights the importance of animal studies—including those involving nonhuman primates—while demonstrating the research community’s commitment to responsible science and exceptional animal care.

Since its inaugural celebration in April 2016, BRAD has grown from 20 events in the United States to more than 300 celebrations held annually around the world. In addition to educating the public, BRAD helps unite research communities, strengthen institutional engagement, boost employee morale, and highlight careers in biomedical research and laboratory animal care and medicine. BRAD is observed each year on the third Thursday in April, with veterinary schools, medical schools, research institutions, and organizations around the globe participating in local celebrations and educational outreach efforts.
